The most successful titles amongst the next generation of narrative games will be those that put a greater focus upon Story, Character and Emotional Engagement of the viewer/player on both a narrative and an emotional level. Developing narrative games, like developing narrative cinema, is all about developing, enhancing and protecting The Story.

It's not easy to provide strong storytelling.  If done incorrectly, moving from an interative experience (i.e. playing the game) into a narrative piece can be jarring.  Maintaining story integrity is a major concern while sustaining and deepening character traits and ability. Above all, keeping the player engaged and immersed is crucial if we are to maintain the high quality demanded by The Game. Many people believe that simply moving a camera around a 3D scene is good enough and give little regard to its impact to the viewer and to The Games' characters (i.e. your Brand, your business)
